Idaho murder case

According to a search warrant that was unsealed on Wednesday, items taken from the apartment of Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of killing four college students who were found dead in an off-campus residence in Moscow, Idaho, included a reddish-brown stained pillowcase, hair strands, and one black glove.

The search warrant stated that an animal hair was also discovered while Kohberger’s residence was being searched. According to the search warrant documents, one of the items police were hoping to find during the search of Kohberger’s apartment was dog hair. The dog belonged to one of the victims, 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves, and her ex-boyfriend, and was discovered in the Moscow residence when neighbourhood police officers first arrived on the scene.

The murder weapon was more elusive and has still not been located by authorities. However, according to the search warrant, on November 13, 2022, a knife sheath that was empty was found at the crime site either adjacent to or underneath the body of victim Madison Mogen, who was 21.

The King Road residence, the scene of the murders, had a substantial amount of blood splatter, which happens when drops of blood are spilled as a result of rapid movement, according to the search warrant application. According to the warrant, police believed they would discover blood on Kohberger’s person, clothes, or shoes.

The search warrant revealed that while processing the crime scene, police also discovered a latent shoe print that had a diamond-shaped pattern identical to that of a pair of Vans sneakers.

Law enforcement sources

According to law enforcement sources who spoke to CBS News earlier, Kohberger was allegedly connected to the Idaho crime scene through forensic examination, and an affidavit claimed that DNA was discovered on a knife sheath left at the scene of the killings.

According to the search warrant, police also seized a computer tower, Walmart and Marshall’s receipts, a dust canister from a Bissell Power Force vacuum, and a Fire TV stick with a wire and connector.

Kohberger was apprehended in Pennsylvania on a fugitive from justice warrant, according to authorities, and extradited to Idaho, where he was formally charged with the killings.
