Selena Gomez Does An Impersonation Of Miley Cyrus During Her SNL Monologue

Singer Selena Gomes made her debut as a host in the SNL monologue, on 14 May and the star singer spoke about several during the opening of the monologue. Selena even mentioned that she herself is a massive fan of the show. Gomez made an impressive opening for her fans by giving details about her love life and about her series, ‘’, and many more.

Gomez revealed that during her childhood while growing up she would watch the show along with her mother, and it was a very big moment for her to get featured in the show. Gomez joked during the opening of the show and went on to say, “One reason I’m excited to host SNL is that I’m single — and I’ve heard SNL is a great place to find romance. Emma Stone met her husband [Dave McCary] here, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost. And Pete [Davidson] and Machine Gun Kelly. And because I don’t really want to try the dating apps, I’d like to put it out there and say I’m manifesting love and looking for my soulmate – but at this point I’ll take anyone.

Selena Even Took ’s Advice For Hosting

Even during her monologue, she spoke about her co-stars and about her transformation from Barney & Friends in the early 2000s to Selena recalls the time when she asked Steve Martin and for their advice before appearing on SNL: “When I found out I was hosting, I immediately asked for their advice.” Gomez continued saying, “Steve said, ‘Trust no one,’ and Marty said, ‘I think Steve Martin has been using my credit card.’”

Gomez further mentioned that she had even asked her oldest friend, for her advice on the same and launched into an impression of Cyrus telling her, “Just be yourself and have fun.” Selena said she was glad to be on SNL as it was a great place to find love. Before closing the monologue, she said  “I’ll admit, I am a little nervous, but I just think back to those words of wisdom that one of my co-stars would tell me before every show,”  she further continued saying, “I love you, you love me, we’re a happy family.”
